Letter to parents and carers from the CEO 21.05.21

 21st May 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we approach the half term break, I am pleased to say that there have been no cases of Covid-19 in recent weeks at either Joseph Clarke or Whitefield Schools. Whilst the national outlook for Covid-19 is now more positive, we continue to take all the necessary precautions and are following the government's guidance around social distancing and hygiene.  The health and wellbeing of our pupils remains our priority and we are committed to ensuring our learning spaces are safe, clean and orderly.  A special thanks to our Site Teams who are doing a superb job with maintenance, safety checks and overseeing extensive cleaning.

I am pleased to have been able to visit classrooms to see pupils enjoying learning with their friends and teachers. One of the highlights of the term has been the Daily Mile which saw pupils across our schools participating in this national initiative.  It was great to see so many children getting involved and we hope to participate in many more initiatives aimed at improving our children's mental and physical wellbeing. This term, we also received the excellent news that Joseph Clarke School had been awarded a Quality Mark in both its primary and secondary phases.  The Quality Mark is a national accreditation which recognises the strengths of the school's maths and English provision. This is a fantastic achievement and is testament to Chadia Filali-Moutei and the team at Joseph Clarke School.

As a group of schools, we have the opportunity to harness and benefit from the combined experience and expertise of teams across the Trust. By sharing resources and collaborating together we can significantly enhance the learning experience for all our pupils.  To oversee this collaboration and ensure pupils at both schools benefit from it, we have appointed Chadia Filali-Moutei as Acting Executive Principal at both Joseph Clarke and Whitefield Schools.  Chadia will work closely with Jo Conduit too, who joined us as Chief Operating Officer at the start of the term. Jo has settled in very quickly to the role and has enjoyed meeting the pupils over the past few weeks.

May I take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support.  As parents and carers you have a very important role to play in your child's education. We appreciate the support and encouragement you provide and the way in which you partner with us to make your child's learning and experience great.

Wishing you all a relaxing and enjoyable half term break.

Yours sincerely,

Kirstie Fulthorpe
