The students scored a total of 77 points across the 10 races with, with Priory School from Bury St Edmunds – winners for the past two years – 10 points adrift. Fitzwaryn School, from Wantage in Oxfordshire in third place.
This is the first time that a team from London has won the South of England competition since it started and the Whitefield team has been training hard to make the grade.
Coach and PE teacher Maria Papazoglou said it was “an opportunity of a lifetime for them and they have seized it.", While one of our winning swimmers Jayden said: “Last time I came here I was very nervous but this time the team have made me more confident. This makes me feel like I’ve achieved something real.”
