The school that would become Joseph Clarke School opened in 1918 and to mark its centenary, HRH Princess Michael of Kent, who has a long association with the school and who is the patron of our charitable foundation – the Joseph Clarke Trust – visited to unveil a plaque commemorating both the school's centenary, and its extension and modernisation.
The princess previously visited almost exactly 30 years ago, on the occasion of the opening of the school's primary department.
During this visit, the Princess met our pupils, staff and representatives of the Academy as well as parents, local neighbours and dignitaries including Cllr Yemi Osho, the Mayor of Waltham Forest.
Our visitors were given a rousing welcome by Alan Myatt, Towncrier.
